Comment: excellent depiction of atmosphere and establishing mood. If this was the cover to a graphic novel, i would immediately pick it up.
Constructive criticism: while it looks nice, I do not know what is going on. the lack of ability to see the direction of the saber man's face means that there is a certain level of uncertainty concerning his motives. Is he approaching the castle, or leading his robed people around it?

Thanks a lot for the constructive criticism (and the comment too! :-)). I actually wanted the mood to be uncertain, like "Something is definitely going to happen, but we have to wait for our general to tell us what" . That's why everybody is looking at him.
But still, image like this should be easy to read and you've got a point. thanks a lot!

The composition and lighting on this are stunning! I especially like all the details and lights on the city. Amazing job overall.

Did you use a 3D rendering for the landscape, or did you paint that as well?

Wow, thank you! The temple and the front piece of something my hero is standing on are modeled in 3d software and then painted over in photoshop. The landscape is mostly handpainted and put together from various photos. Glad you liked it.
